35 adjournment motions tabled in Sindh PA

ISLAMABAD: Lawmakers in the Sindh Assembly tabled 35 adjournment motions which consumed 7% (14 hours and 37 minutes) of the proceedings times during the first parliamentary years.

The House took up 25 adjournment motions, seven were not taken up, two rejected and one withdrawn by the mover. Most of the adjournment motions (30) were tabled members followed by PML-F 3, PTI 2, one each by PML-N and PPPP. A total of 52 lawmakers debated on the motions taken up, of which, 21 belong to MQM followed by PPPP 20, PML-F 5, PTI 4 and PML-N 2.

Most of the motions were regarding operation against target killings, extortion, land grabbing and kidnapping incidents in Karachi, dengue outbreak, water pollution in Keenjhar Lake, recovery of kidnapped doctors, hygiene and sanitation, poor administration, rape of a 7-year-old girl in Kotri, power outages, worsening law and order situation in Hyderabad, Khairpur and Shikarpur, termination of 13,000 employees from the Local Government Department, provincial Sindh financial deficit, feminine in Tharparkar, attack on a temple in Larkana, acute shortage of water in West Karachi, extrajudicial killings of MQM workers and cheating culture in the examination.
