Balochistan PA adopts eights resolutions during 35th session

ISLAMABAD: The Provincial Assembly of Balochistan adopted eight resolutions on various provincial matters during its 35th session that comprised five sittings started on November 2 and ended on November 12, 2016.

Among eight adopted resolutions, four were jointly moved by lawmakers belonging to various political parties while three resolutions were tabled by PML-N lawmakers. A lawmaker belonging to PkMAP moved one resolution as well. Among passed resolutions, two each were on the subject of minority rights and MPs privileges while one resolution each was related to the economic, health, education and issues pertaining to law and order.

The adopted resolutions were about establishment of provincial health and education commissions, regularization of the procedure of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) for multi-national corporations and investing firms through legislation, taking measures through Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) to put an end to drug trafficking within the province, provision of funds and ownership rights to the servants of Local Government Department belonging to minorities, defining policy for upgradation of pay scales of minority employees in Local Government Departments, issuance of blue government passports for the members of the Balochistan Assembly and construction of MPA Lodges and Ministers’ Enclave to provide better residential facilities for legislators.

Party wise details of resolutions shows that lawmakers belonging to PkMAP tabled four resolutions either individually or jointly while PML-N lawmakers tabled three resolutions followed by one by NP lawmaker.

Agha Syed Liaqat Ali (PkMAP) and Anita Irfan (PMl-N) tabled two resolutions each while Abdul Majeed Khan Achakzai and Abdul Raheem Ziaratwal Advocate (PkMAP), Prince Ahmed Ali (PML-N) and Nawab Mohammad Khan Shahwani (NP) tabled one resolution each during the session.
