sindh new houseISLAMABAD: The Home Minister Sindh had to face tough time from lawmakers of Opposition benches during reply to the questions addressed to his subordinate department.

During the ongoing 3rd parliamentary year of Sindh Assembly, it was the first time that House considered questions related to Home department during its question hour. Out of total 22 questions, five were addressed to Home Department of which House took four questions during the 12th sitting of ongoing 23rd session. In addition, lawmakers asked 22 supplementary questions from Home department.

Home Minister Sohail Anwar Siyal who assumed the office of Home Minister in May 2015 remained stealth during the question session as members raised supplementary questions in abundance and also highlighted the typo error in the written reply.  MQM lawmaker Heer Soho pointed out the typo errors in the written reply as it was told that 104 vehicles were recovered from the city from July to December 2012 out of 66 snatched vehicles.

The minister said that it was typing mistake made by his department while giving details about snatched vehicles. He succeeded to avoid further queries by saying that maintenance of law and order should be on priority instead of pointing out such mistakes.

Responding to a question raised by MQM female lawmaker Bilquees Mukhtar seeking town wise details about snatched motorbikes and cars during July to December 2012, the Home Minister Sohail Anwar Siyal told the House that 442 cars and 1642 motorcycles were snatched from 20 different places of which the 1563 were recovered by the police department.
