KP Assembly to meet on Monday after 39 days break

ISLAMABAD:  The 14th sitting of 21st session of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Assembly will be held on December 5 (Monday) after a long break of 39 days.

On October 26, the 13th sitting of KP Assembly was held and the House was adjourned to meet on November 2, 20161. Later, it was announced that 14thsitting will be held on December 5 instead of November 21. It is to mention that ongoing 21st session is second longest session in term of highest ever sittings so far. Earlier, the 15th session concluded after having 80 sittings while 2nd session had a total of 13 sittings.

The 15th session which continued for around 15 months also observed longest breaks like ongoing 21st session for several times and it continued from October 23, 2014 to January 11, 2016.

During the ongoing 21st session, the House has passed 14 bills so far including the KP Whistleblower Protection and Vigilance Commission Bill, 2016; the KP Prohibition of Interest on Private Loans Bill, 2016; the KP Taking Over of the Industrial Estates or Economic Zones Bill, 2016; the KP Adhoc Employees of Directorate of Information Technology (Regularization of Services) Bill, 2016; the KP Tibb and Homeopathic Employees (Appointment) Bill, 2016, the KP Tuberculosis Notification Bill, 2016; the KP Faculty of Paramedical and Allied Health Sciences Bill, 2016; the KP Higher Education Academy of Research and Training Bill, 2016; KP Blood Transfusion Safety Authority Bill, 2016; the BRAINS Institute Bill, 2016; the Public-Private Partnership (Amendment) Bill, 2016; the KP Urban Mass Transit Bill, 2016; the KP Commission on the Status of Women Bill, 2016 and the KP Lissaail-e-Wal Mahroom Foundation (Amendment) Bill, 2016.

The 21st session has also witnessed adoption of seven resolutions which were about condemning the violence against women and attacks in Held Kashmir by Indian occupied forces; raising the scale of employees of Agriculture department, conducting judicial inquiry into the issue of Panama Leaks; construction of western route of China Pakistan Economic Corridor on priority; extending the KP Police Ordinance, 201 and reducing toll tax at Motorway Toll Plazas.
