PO consumes 30% of sitting time in Sindh PA

ISLAMABAD: Lawmakers in the Provincial Assembly of Sindh rose as many as 18 Points of Order (POs) on matters of public importance that consumed 55 minutes (30%) of proceeding time during its 21st sitting on Friday.

The members congratulate the provincial government for inauguration of the first ever liver transplant facility in the Gambat Institute of Medical Sciences (GIMS) in district Khairpur through POs.

The Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Nisar Ahmed Khuhro also congratulates the House and acknowledged the efforts of PPPP led provincial government for providing its citizen with first ever liver transplant facility in any government sector hospital of Karachi.

Furthermore, eleven lawmakers including the Minister for Health Mehtab Hussain Dahar and lawmaker including Mehtab Akbar Rashdi (PML-F), Sardar Ahmed (MQM), Sorath Thebo (PML-N), Nusrat Bano Seher Abbasi (PML-F), Kulsoom Chandio (PPPP), Manzoor Hussain Wassan (PPPP), Nand Kumar (PML-F), Mahesh Malani (PPPP) and the Leader of Opposition, Khawaja Izharul Hassan felicitated the efforts of provincial government on this initiative while sharing their views in the House on points of order.

Lawmakers also raised other matters of public interest through POs including the issue of name of the government institute, availability of doctors and medicines in various districts and overall situation of the government hospitals in Sindh province. The Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Nisar Ahmed Khuhro and Minister Health Mehtab Hussain Dahar responded the quarries raised by members on floor of the House.

In addition, Three out of seven starred questions appearing on the agenda received oral replies from the government. All questions were addressing to the Sindh Technical Education and Vocational Training Authority (STEVTA) that were responded to by the Senior Minister Nisar Ahmed Khuhro on behalf of the Minister STEVTA. Lawmakers also asked 24 supplementary questions from same department.
