Resolution submitted in Sindh PA Secretariat to honor Edhi

ISLAMABAD: Lawmakers in the Provincial Assembly of Sindh have proposed to establish a University of Humanity in Sindh in order to acknowledge the services of renowned philanthropist Abdul Sattar Edhi who passed away on July 8, 2016 due to kidney failure.

According to details, treasury female lawmaker Khair un Nisa Mughal has submitted a resolution in the Secretariat on July 13 urging the provincial government to establish a University for Humanity to commemorate services of Abdul Sattar Edhi.

The resolution paid tribute to Edhi for his contribution towards human welfare and requested the provincial government to establish a university. It reads that the university should be established to recognize the services of Edhi who dedicated his whole life to serve the humanity without the discrimination of any cost and creed.

Abdul Sattar Edhi, 88 years old Founder of the Edhi Foundation, was under vigilant medical care at the Sindh Institute of Urology and Transplantation (SIUT) where he died due to kidney failure. He was known as the most respectful and legendary figure who has served the humanity regardless of religion, creed and nationality.

The House may take up this resolution in the upcoming 26th session.
